Development of A Fetus During 1st Trimester (Weeks 1-12)

The development of the fetus from fertilised egg to baby in just 40 weeks is phenomenal here is an outline of the changes during the first Trimester:

Week 1-4

• The cells rapidly divide and grow
• The heart starts beating
• The central nervous system starts to develop
• The limb buds appear

Week 4-8
