Acupuncture during Pregnancy

Acupuncture is useful at all stages of pregnancy, it’s recommended that most mothers-to-be consider having acupuncture treatment every four to six weeks as part of a maintenance programme for promoting well-being during pregnancy.

Acupuncture is well known for its ability to relieve symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, stress, anxiety, constipation, backache / sciatica, haemorrhoids, headaches, heartburn, depression and swollen feet.

Research suggests that acupuncture may also help to improve the blood flow to the uterus and help to boost your energy levels too.

Acupuncture may help in the last few weeks of pregnancy to prepare you for the birth. For example it may help to turn breech babies, and induce labour (once your due date has been reached).
