Electro Acupuncture Treatments

Electro Acupuncture is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electro Acupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously, usually for no more than 30 minutes at a time.

Basal Temperature Charting

When appropriate, Basal Temperature Charting may be the best and most cost effective way of understanding your cycle and also targeting the days when you are likely to be ovulating. During the consultation I will be happy to explain this very easy method and I can look through your completed charts at the end of each month. I would suggest charting for 3 months. Understanding that although this is a very proactive step towards taking some control over your fertility, it can become the focal point of every morning, so 3 months should be sufficient to get the picture.

Your basal body temperature is your temperature when you’re fully at rest. Ovulation may cause a slight increase in basal body temperature. You’ll be most fertile during the two to three days before your temperature rises. By tracking your basal body temperature each day, you may be able to predict when you’ll ovulate. In turn, this may help you determine when you’re most likely to conceive.

PCOS and Basal Temperature Charting is still very useful, unlike ovulation predictor kits.

Temperature charting and Chinese Medicine.

The changes in temperature may be a good indication of how you are responding to acupuncture treatment and how treatment may be enhanced.

The Basal thermometer and charts are available in both centigrade and Fahrenheit and available from my clinic.
